Experienced Social Entrepreneur Philip Fowler joins ODOS Properties as a Non - Executive Director and Shareholder.
Philip decided to invest both his time and money into ODOS Properties ahead of our plans to scale up and recruit 50 more ODOS Partners across the country.

"Philips timing could not have been better for ODOS. Over the past few months we have seen massive growth with new instructions, agreed sales and website traffic. At a point where we are preparing to accelerate our recruitment drive across England to onboard 50 ODOS Partners, Philips vast expertise and experience will come in very helpful. We have also onboarded a full time experienced manager to run our Gloucestershire operations (more to come on this) . Philip will be able to advise on "bigger picture processes", and overall company growth with our existing Directors. The ODOS Properties Senior Management team has now grown to a total of four members"
We decided to ask Philip a few questions before he joined ODOS
1) What is your relevant industry experience?
"My interest and passion for all things property started in the mid 80's when I did my work experience at school at a local Estate Agents. From there I decided I wanted to be a surveyor so I studied Urban Land Economics at Sheffield Hallam University. My year placement at University was with the Grosvenor Estate which manages the Duke of Westminster's property holdings. After graduating I worked for a regional General Practice firm in Lincolnshire. This included General Practice work including house valuations and surveys. It was also my first taste of building a business as we built the Commercial Agency business. I was lucky enough to find an opportunity with the leading property magazine, Estates Gazette, as part of the start up team of their online business. We brought that business to market which saw me working with Surveyors and Estate Agents across the UK.
A short stint in the Fit Out Industry and I was soon working for the largest Real Estate Data Provider globally, CoStar, setting up their Telesales team and again working with Surveyors and Estate Agents across the UK.
That brought me to Worcester and I soon moved into the Fit Out Industry and sadly was made redundant in 2011. I set up my own property moves business and about four years ago became a UW Partner. I am a Non - Executive Director for Platform Property Care which is part of Platform Housing Group and I have also invested in several Property - Tech companies.
So always a background of property and building businesses, opening new offices and expanding into new regions."
2) Why did you decide to be involved and invest in ODOS Properties?
"Timing is a curious thing. I had been contemplating investing in a property business and heard ODOS were seeking investors so we arranged to meet. I know James through his father Andrew and ultimately we share the same vision, values and ethics. It feels a good fit and there is genuine excitement to work together."
3) What do you think you will bring to ODOS Properties?
"My previous investments have been back seat investments. With ODOS we felt that I could add real value to the business as it grows by being more directly involved. Whilst my experience I am sure will help I am always keen to listen and advise. Honest feedback is important whilst bringing enthusiasm that we will achieve the businesses vision and goals."
4) What do you hope to get out of ODOS?
"I want it to be fun. Also that we all do our best to make ODOS succeed!"
